In the beginning, there were buttons. However only as bronze embellishments, affixed to the Germanic robes almost blindly. Only when a bronze-aged designer discovered the idea of a matching hole for a button did the button become what it is today, as a clothing-fastening technique, revolutionising the fashion world. .
Bronze buttons can obviously not be offered by hemdwerk. Instead, high-quality buttons from real mother-of-pearl and high-grade plastics. All buttons on the front strip are affixed properly and sewed on with neat cross-stitching. The same applies to the spare buttons on the care label, the button on the sleeve slit and both the little buttons on a button-down collar. Our shirts also come with the option of a simply sewed French button strip or a superimposed button strip, on which the buttons are visibly sewed. Upon demand, a hidden button strip is also available, where the buttons are invisible (as in covered). This is probably the most elegant way of fastening one’s shirt. The buttons of your made-to-measure shirt are sewed on with specialised button sewing machines. This step alone requires a lot of effort. But only in this way can one be sure that they will even resist strong stresses without tearing off.
If a small incident should happen, you can use one of the spare buttons provided. This are sewed into the inside of the shirt discreetly.
The standard on our made-to-measure shirts. These are nice to touch, not too obvious, and are especially easy to push through the buttonholes.
