Back Length
Shirt length: Security in every movement. A shirt that constantly slips out of the pants looks unprofessional. The back length on the body ensures a secure fit during every activity.
- Path: From the neck (7th cervical vertebra) along the spine to the buttocks.
- Goal: Determine the ideal total length for a secure fit in the pants.
Measure from the slightly protruding vertebra in the neck straight down. For business shirts, the lower buttock fold is an ideal endpoint.
Important Note:
This guide is for determining your individual anatomical measurements (body measurements). These values are not identical to the measurements of a finished shirt, as a tailor adds a comfort allowance depending on the desired fit (e.g., Slim Fit or Comfort Fit).
Preparation:
Ideally, measure in light underwear or on bare skin. Stand relaxed and upright. A second person for support significantly increases accuracy.
