Armhole
- Path: In a straight line vertically from the shoulder point to the armpit point.
- Important: Pull the fabric smooth, but do not follow the curve.
Lay the armpit area absolutely flat. Measure the width of the armhole in a straight vertical line from the highest shoulder point to the lowest armpit point. This measurement is crucial for freedom of movement: An optimally placed armhole prevents the shirt from slipping out of the pants when you lift your arms.
Important Note:
The following instructions are exclusively for measuring an existing shirt that fits you well (finished measurements). These values are not identical to your body measurements, as a shirt requires a comfort allowance.
Your Design Freedom:
When ordering a new shirt, you can modify the values. Do you want a tighter silhouette? Reduce the waist width by 1–2 cm. Do you need room for a wristwatch? Increase the corresponding cuff width (usually left).
